Provenance: From a Private Collection Assembled in Spain and Britain from the 1960s through the 1980s
Condition:
interior glass with some surface dirt and accretion, some staining to plaque at lid underside, case with some scratches and light wear, in partial working order at time of inspection (ruby has been realigned since box was photographed, box plays but fan periodically stops spinning while playing - box may need further adjustment and/or repairs in order to play consistently)

CONDITION: Scattered loss of inlay, 2 sections of loss at left side of case. Currently working. No key to open side access panel. No signs of insect damage, but has been treated as a preventative.

NICOLE FRERES SWISS INLAID CYLINDER MUSIC BOX: The single comb components were made by the renowned Geneva firm of Nicole Freres. Marked A GENEVA (Switzerland) with a stamped number 39136. The case is of fine inlaid rosewood case is marked Hime & Son Liverpool & Birkenhead. It has three controls on the end of the box within a door that opens on the left end. One control is an on / off lever. The second is to select a repeat of the last song or switch to continuous play of the 6 tunes / airs. The third selects continuous play or stop after playing the six songs. This is the end where the spring is wound with a key which is included. Measures 5'' x 18 1/2'' x 7''.CONDITION: Currently running however not guaranteed to continue. Note minor scratches to case.
